Hi!
I am out of practice with sharing anything at all, because in all honesty I am out of practice in creating. Anything. At all.
(Except for pottery, but you don’t come here for that!)
I’m not just taking this dry spell passively…as luck would have it, my friend Michelle started an Artist’s Way book club and I couldn’t have signed up for it any faster. I have a copy of the book (OF COURSE) but I have never read it all the way through. The timing couldn’t be better and I am so excited to start writing again.
Today was a snow-ish day here in Massachusetts, and that always puts this Caribbean queen in a terrible mood. I love living here except for January-April, which is a problem because it’s a big chunk of the year. By this point I’m ready to move anywhere with a pulse, but I never do. Instead I just pile on the layers and dream of being outside in the warmth and humidity. (Soon, I hope!)
So I was bored out of my mind looking out at the snow/rain mess and decided to get on Instagram. After a bit of scrolling (possibly more boring than watching snow) I felt like sharing something I wrote last year because it reminded me how I feel every winter. So many people sent me sweet messages it made me realize that of course there are a lot of caterpillars out there. If you’re one of us, I see you. Here is a little poem I wrote for you and me.
Hang in there, friends. The cold and dark can’t last forever.
xo,
I feel like you did right it just for me. Thank you.
